Webtale
What is Webtale?
Webtale is an UNOFFICIAL Undertale port for the browser. No install needed.
YOU NEED AN OFFICIAL UNDERTALE COPY TO BE ABLE TO USE WEBTALE! Webtale does NOT provide any Undertale assets (game data, music, art, etc), everything is from your own game data.
Webtale is a fan project and is not affiliated with Toby Fox or Royal Sciences LLC.
How can I play Undertale on the browser?
Import your game data to Webtale and play.
Which Undertale versions are compatible?
Webtale is compatible with Undertale v1.001 through v1.08.
Where are the files stored?
Game and saves are stored in your browser's Origin private file system.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes! Webtale has an in-game virtual gamepad, so you can play using your touch screen without using any third-party apps or physical controllers.
Can I play with mods?
Yes! However, not all mods work right now. To use mods, mod your Undertale installation on your computer and then select the modded folder in Webtale.
Can I play on a console?
If you want to play on consoles like the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Vita, and other platforms, check out Butterscotch!
How does this work?
Webtale uses Starfait, a GameMaker: Studio runner reimplementation in Kotlin.
Different from other web ports, because we are "emulating" the runner, we don't need to recompile the game targeting HTML5, which means that we don't need to provide the game data and it also works with mods.
